Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Glory Village when you use this website or give a gift.
Last updated: 3 August 2026
1. Agreement
By using this website or making a donation, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms sit alongside our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
This site is operated by Glory Village, a community welfare organisation based at No. 14, Sevana Lane, Kandy, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka.
2. Donations
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to make a payment.
- You confirm the payment method you use belongs to you, or that you have permission to use it.
- Donations are made in the currency shown at checkout. Your bank may apply its own conversion rate or foreign transaction fee, which is outside our control.
- You must sign in with a Google account before donating. This lets us verify each gift and send your receipt to a confirmed address.
- A donation is only complete once our payment provider confirms it. Reaching a confirmation page does not by itself mean a payment succeeded.
3. How your gift is used
Where you choose a specific programme, we will apply your gift to that programme. If that programme becomes fully funded, is discontinued, or the need changes materially, we reserve the right to direct your gift to the area of greatest need — which will always remain within our charitable purpose of caring for elders, widows and youth.
We are not a registered charity in every country from which we receive donations. Depending on where you live, your gift may not be tax deductible. Please check with a local tax adviser — we cannot advise you on your tax position.
4. Recurring donations
- If you choose a monthly or yearly gift, your payment method will be charged automatically at that interval until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time by emailing us. Cancellation stops all future charges but does not refund gifts already made.
- We will treat any cancellation request as effective from the moment we receive it, and will confirm it to you in writing.
- If a recurring payment fails, our payment provider may retry it. If it continues to fail, the recurring gift will end automatically.
5. Refunds
Donations are gifts and are generally not refundable. That said, we never want to keep money given by mistake. If you donated in error — the wrong amount, a duplicate, an unintended recurring gift, or an unauthorised use of your card — contact us within 30 days and we will refund it without argument.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
6. Receipts
Once a payment clears you can download a receipt from the confirmation page, showing a unique receipt number, the amount, the date and the programme your gift supports. Please keep it for your records. If you lose it, contact us and we will re-issue it.
7. Payments and security
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect, see or store your card details at any point. Your use of the payment page is also subject to Stripe’s own terms.
You agree not to use this site to make fraudulent payments, to test stolen card details, or to launder money. We will refuse and report any transaction we reasonably believe to be fraudulent.
8. Using this website
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its database, or another person's account.
- Submit false, misleading or abusive information through our forms.
- Use automated tools to scrape, overload or disrupt the site.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Use any content from this site commercially without our written permission.
We may suspend or block access where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.
9. Content and intellectual property
All text, images, photographs and design on this site belong to Glory Village or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may share and link to our pages freely. You may not republish, alter or sell our content without asking us first.
Photographs of the people we serve are published with their consent, or with the consent of their guardian. Please treat them with the same respect we do.
10. Stories and testimonials
Stories published on this site describe real people and real circumstances. Names and identifying details are sometimes changed to protect the privacy and dignity of those in our care. They are shared to give an honest picture of our work, not as a guarantee of any particular outcome.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the site running reliably, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice. We are not liable for any loss arising from the site being unavailable.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Glory Village is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
14. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here at the moment you donate is the version that applies to that gift.
